Description

The Consultant will lead multiple client implementations of the OPSdocs service. They will work with a team to introduce a comprehensive technology platform, technical strategy, and integrated architecture. This work may include providing strategic guidance regarding Information Management (IM) technology, IT infrastructure, and enabling major business processes through enhancements to IT.

Key deliverables for this position

  • Act as the key liaison between the project and stakeholders including other I&IT clusters, Ministry program areas, and other delivery partners such as ITS.
  • Coordinate all aspects of OPSdocs implementation deliverables, including supervising consultants where appropriate, as the senior technical advisor/expert.
  • Plan timelines and resource requirements.
  • Anticipate and resolve problems to ensure deliverables are completed within budget, with high quality, and meet or exceed expectations.
  • Identify conflicts and communicate issues to the engagement lead or client manager.
  • Build positive relationships by understanding business and deliverable needs.
  • Develop mechanisms, frameworks, processes, and procedures for implementing deliverables.
  • Prepare implementation plans, reports, presentations, including options, recommendations, designs, strategies, and change-management options.
  • Work with business analysts to translate business requirements and functional specifications into appropriate application designs and define project scope. Assist in developing business requirements.
  • Identify project and strategic risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Apply best practices in design, build, development, and deployment, adhering to GO-ITS standards and internal standards.
  • Present solutions in written or oral reports.
  • Prepare documentation and progress reports for clients.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Project Management Experience: 35%

  • Senior Project Manager with 10+ years in project management, including project planning, resource management, governance, risk management, and change management.
  • Experience in developing project plans, defining objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Efficiently allocate resources (staff, financial, technological) to achieve project goals.
  • Identify potential risks and create contingency plans.
  • Monitor project expenses to stay within budget.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet standards and client expectations.
  • Manage and motivate project teams, assign tasks, resolve conflicts, and cross-train team members.
  • Track project status and provide stakeholder updates.
  • Adapt to project requirement changes and keep projects on track.
  • Review project outcomes and conduct lessons learned assessments.
  • Knowledge of application development methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience with Web Accessibility testing supporting AODA legislation.
  • Experience working in Agile-Scrum environments, using standard and DevOps processes and tools.
Project Management Technical Experience: 35%
  • Managing multiple projects involving vendor and client collaboration, including requirement analysis, testing, and delivery oversight.
  • Knowledge of OpenText Content Suite and other OpenText products.
  • Understanding of SDLC, STLC, and project management practices.
  • Experience handling IT infrastructure projects, working with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Overseeing new IT project or enterprise software implementations, including planning, training, and change management.
  • Managing cybersecurity projects, working with security experts to address vulnerabilities.
  • Leading cloud migration projects, focusing on scalability, cost, and data integrity.
  • Developing strategies for digital transformation initiatives.
  • Collaborating with external vendors and ensuring service level agreements are met.
  • Creating and managing project budgets, expenses, and resource utilization.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and team members to align objectives and update progress.
  • Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
  • Applying lessons learned to future projects.
  • Public Sector experience is a plus.

Communication Skills 25%

  • Strong communication skills for documentation, reports, reviews, and assessments.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and professionally, maintaining high customer service standards and facilitating transparent communication among stakeholders.
