Major Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop detailed project charters and project plans, inclusive of scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Define project deliverables, milestones, and success criteria.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure, ensuring projects meet quality standards and deadlines.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with internal teams (retail operations, IT, marketing, compliance, etc.) to identify project needs and dependencies.
  • Engage with senior leadership to provide updates, manage expectations, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Facilitate clear communication between stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

  • Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation plans, and proactively address issues.
  • Apply critical thinking to troubleshoot project challenges and recommend solutions that keep projects on track.

Resource & Budget Management

  • Monitor project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources while meeting financial targets.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party partners as needed to deliver project components.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Create and deliver regular status reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.

Supporting The Project Management Office

  • Assist and support the Director, PMO with regular project reporting to senior management
  • Develop and Monitor project benefit measurement metrics to provide senior management with feedback on their business case realization.
  • Perform project peer reviews.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship services on project management to other departments at Alterna

Manage Diverse Contacts

  • Audiences of all departments and levels within Alterna including executives
  • Consultants working for Alterna
  • 3rd party providers

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project & DevOps).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
  • Experience managing projects related to digital banking, compliance, or financial operations.
  • Familiarity with credit union systems and regulatory requirements.
