A leading company in Vancouver is seeking a Project Manager for a 12-month contract. The role involves overseeing major projects, managing budgets, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. What you will be doing:
Proactively leads the delivery of major projects that involves overseeing sub-projects or multiple delivery components (e.g., governance, operations, technology implementation, change management) including project planning, execution, timing, scope management, functionality, quality and cost, in accordance with project management standards and PMO Framework.
Develops and determines project goals, objectives, and outcomes to align with the direction of the organization.
Manages project budgets and financial resources, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
Reviews and approves project evaluation and post-implementation reviews, including implementation of any required business changes. Makes recommendations and improvement plans based on comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
Participates and contributes to project portfolio management activities, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and portfolio optimization to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
Interprets policies and practices related to project management, and provide expert advice and guidance to peers, supervisors, and senior staff on project-related matters.
Contributes to the development and implementation of operational plans and reporting for a program area to support reliable program accountability, organizational core values and mandate.
Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Contributes to initiatives related to project management processes and methodologies, manages resistance to change and facilitates adoption of new approaches.
Contributes to the development of operational policies and procedures, performance standards and service levels with the goal of continuous improvement.
Develops and maintains constructive and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, establish clear communication channels with stakeholders, and address concerns and manage expectations.
Monitor or manage vendor performance, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
What you must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,Engineering, or Business, or equivalentcombination of relevant experience,education, and training.Project Management Certification from anindustry recognized accreditation body.
A minimum of seven (7) years experienceas a Project Manager leading complexprojects with a budget of at least $1 millioninvolving multiple delivery components,multiple workstreams and businessstakeholders.
A minimum of five (5) years experience asProject Manager leading technologyimplementation projects.
Ability to managing complex relationshipswhere different parties have a piece of thecritical path and different levels ofinvestment in the timelines and outcomes.This can include internal and internalstakeholders and third-party vendors.
Experience writing business cases orbriefing materials, develops RFPs andestimates to support decision-making.
Ability leading multi-disciplinary teams inbusiness transformation initiatives andbusiness process design activities to alignbusiness systems with new businessprocesses and systems.
Experience with Agile-Waterfall Hybridmethodologies and applying them toproject management practices.
