PROJECT MANAGERPOSITION SUMMARY: The Project Manager will lead complex and technically focused projects of medium to large scope within a multi-site regional environment using best-practice project management methodology and tools. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in advancing technology in a healthcare environment by supporting our partners with project initiation, planning, execution, and closing. This role works closely with stakeholders across the sector (including hospitals, TransForm departments, vendors, and other partners) to coordinate resources and project activities in a fast-paced technically challenging environment.The Project Manager role brings a high level of business acumen, strong emotional intelligence and stakeholder management competencies, and advanced communications skills, in addition to technical project management experience. The primary responsibilities of this role include managing multiple projects concurrently, while planning, developing and coordinating all aspects of their assigned projects to achieve successful project delivery: on time, on budget, and within scope. Projects typically involve application implementations and upgrades, IT infrastructure changes, privacy & security projects, and other diverse deliverables as requested by TransForm’s partners.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:- Manage and lead project development from beginning to end
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
- Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, including preparing regular reporting as required to communicate activity and progress, milestones and other key project metrics.
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of needed internal personnel
- Set and continually manage project expectations with project team members and applicable stakeholders
- Manage assigned project staff: allocation of staff resources, delegating, scheduling and prioritizing staff workloads and developing, mentoring and coaching others
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
- Develop, manage, and track project plans and project timelines/milestones using appropriate tools
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation, and presentations
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues/risks, and develop contingency plans and take early action to resolve problems
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
- Commit to an approach to project design and implementation that constantly builds towards a health system with equity of access, quality and care outcomes
MUST- HAVES:- Three (3) year University Degree or equivalent experience in Public Administration, Health Informatics, Information Technology, Information Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Minimum four to six (4-6) years direct project management experience
- Applicable industry experience in leading projects that support client groups such as Healthcare, Information Technology, Information Management, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of current practice project management tools and techniques
- Familiarity with project management software, such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in project management best practices, policies, procedures
- Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, vendors and team members
WE VALUE:- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset
- Experience leading IT projects, including maintaining a working knowledge of servers, networking, SaaS, and privacy and security concepts is an asset
OTHER CONDITIONS:- Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position: exposed to stress and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must be able to travel within the Southwestern Ontario area, when required
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends, when required
