Job summary

RESA Power is seeking a Project Manager to organize and deliver standard and custom electrical equipment projects for a diverse set of customers in Canada. You will coordinate vendors, engineers, and clients to keep milestones on track and paperwork compliant with company and client specs.

This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and customer service, with responsibility for status updates, resource coordination, documentation, and meeting facilitation across internal and external teams.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and understand complex drawings, parts lists, and technical materials.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, generation and substations is an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with customers and peers.
  • Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex and custom product projects according to specified and quoted scope.
  • Communicate with clients, management and their team for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information.
  • Accountable for maintaining status of projects and updating all stakeholders.
  • Schedule, track and be responsible for overall project status, progress, and performance.
  • Coordinate internal engineering resources for electrical, mechanical, controls, and field service scopes.
  • Liaison with internal staff, external clients, contractors, and vendors to complete various aspects of the project requirements.
  • Create Work Orders, procure long-lead time and specialized project materials.
  • Arrange complex project documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals, studies, reports, and drawings.
  • Organize and participate in project meetings with both internal staff and external clients.
  • Schedule the testing and commissioning of complex product projects.
  • Maintain a desire to learn and research topics outside area of expertise to recommend improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for being an organized, service-orientated individual to manage standard product equipment supply projects for a variety of Customers. The position is responsible for communicating with a variety of departments, vendors, employees, and customers to ensure projects are completed on time and appropriate paperwork is completed as per company and Customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Manage complex and custom product projects according to specified and quoted scope
  • Communicate with clients, management and their team for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent information.
  • Accountable for maintaining status of projects and updating all stakeholders
  • Conduct client communication in a highly customer service-oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work as well as negotiate any extra charges associated with work performed.
  • Observe all safety rules and Best Practices; Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance with all company and regulatory laws.
  • Includes the following duties:
  • Schedule, track and be responsible for overall project status, progress, and performance
  • Coordinate internal engineering resources for electrical, mechanical, controls, and field service scopes
  • Liaison with internal staff, external clients, contractors, and vendors to complete various aspects of the overall project requirements
  • Create Work Orders, Procure long-lead time and specialized project materials
  • Create standardized internal documents that are necessary for assembly and fabrication of project equipment
  • Arrange complex/custom product project documentation, including operation and maintenance manuals, studies, reports, and drawings
  • Organize and participate in project meeting with both internal staff and external clients
  • Schedule the testing and commissioning of complex/custom product projects
  • Maintain a desire to learn and research topics outside area of expertise to recommend suggestions for areas of product and process improvement
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Journeyperson Certification or 10 years of Experience
  • Ability to read and understand complex drawings, parts lists, and additional technical materials
  • Knowledge of power distribution, switchgear, generation and substations is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of CEC and IEEE standards is considered an asset
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers and peers.
  • Dependable and responsible with good judgment and organizational skills.
  • Good customer service, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
  • Able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Able to work with various people throughout the organization-Customer Focused.
  • Focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • For positions that utilize a company vehicle, you will be required to have a valid driver’s license.

Additional Information

Travel:0-25%

Compensation (Hourly): $38-$66/hour

Physical Demands: Occasionally lifting or moving a minimum of 50lbs on a daily, crawling, climbing, standing for long periods of time, and working in non-ideal conditions. Daily computer and phone work.
