Job summary

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, P.Eng in Ontario, 3–5 years’ experience, and strong knowledge of HVAC controls and large distribution networks, including cogeneration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng).
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, preferably Food & Beverage or Pharmaceuticals.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls and Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
• Experience with electrical system design, particularly in consulting or project management.
• Familiarity with complex electrical distribution networks, including cogeneration systems.
• Ability to travel to client sites with reliable transportation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop electrical power distribution designs for large-scale projects.
• Provide expertise in lighting, fire alarms, communication systems, and process control for buildings.
• Manage projects involving electrical infrastructure, including high voltage (up to 44kV) distribution.
• Perform detailed analysis and troubleshooting of technical issues with practical recommendations.
• Develop and review engineering specifications, contract documentation, and progress reports.
• Ensure all designs adhere to industry codes, safety standards, and client requirements.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technicians, reviewing designs for quality and accuracy.
• Design primary and secondary power distribution systems including high/low voltage equipment.
• Conduct site visits to inspect electrical installations for compliance with specs and standards.
• Serve as a technical consultant in-house and on-site.
