Job summary

Odlum Brown in Vancouver is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead high‑impact initiatives. You will partner with business and technical leaders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and with clear governance.

The role requires 3+ years in project management within financial services, experience with IT delivery, and strong communication to stakeholders. You will guide QA/UAT, go‑live, and post‑go live support, while maintaining rigorous artifacts.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Project Manager is required.
  • Experience in investment management, wealth management, brokerage, or related financial services environment.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst is a plus.
  • Familiar with Waterfall, Agile and Scrum methodologies.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
Reporting to the Manager, Business Solutions, the Project Manager will be responsible for leading and executing high-impact projects that drive growth and provide value to our internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management

  • Lead projects in partnership with business and technical leaders
  • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and resources
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders and leadership regarding status, risks and issues
  • Adhere to the firm’s project governance model with accountability for creating and maintaining standard project management artifacts (including charters, schedules and resource plans)
  • Own the release management cycle: schedule and coordinate releases across environments (UAT and Production) for assigned products/platforms
  • Manage deliverables including sprint plans, updates on work items, overall sprint status and release notes
  • Coordinate with vendors and implementation teams through all project phases to ensure that the configured solution meets the business and user needs

Quality Assurance and User Acceptance Testing

  • Participate actively and lead QA/UAT planning and test execution, including issue/bug documentation, follow-up and re-testing

Go-Live and Project-to-Operations

  • Serve as the point person to train the trainers and maximize adoption through active engagement and support of users
  • Provide initial operation support during the go-live phase; serve as Tier 2 escalation point and respond to team and user questions, and propose systems and training recommendations to leadership
  • Transition Tier 2 support to other Business and Technology Solutions/Operations team members, including training and documentation

COMPETENCIES

  • Analysis – Assess quantitative and qualitative data, information, or situations to understand the most important details, identify patterns or meaning, and translate it into useful recommendations, decisions, or actions
  • Change Management – Create strategies, plans and solutions that guide people and teams through change to ensure smooth transitions, buy-in, and sustained outcomes
  • Consulting – Conduct discovery, plan and design solutions, implement strategies, and provide advice to stakeholders within the firm to solve challenges, achieve target state and/or improve performance
  • Process Improvement and Documentation – Uncover, understand, document, optimize and communicate processes to make them more efficient, effective, and consistent
  • Project Management – Plan, coordinate, execute, and oversee projects, balancing time, resources, and scope to achieve objectives, support stakeholders, and meet deadlines
  • Requirements Gathering – Discover, identify, document, and validate business needs to inform system or vendor selection, solution development, and/or project planning
  • Systems Implementation – Deploy and integrate systems to ensure smooth adoption and alignment with business needs

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Project Manager is required
  • Experience in investment management, wealth management, brokerage, or related financial services environment
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or a technical background is a plus
  • Solid grasp and application of standard project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile and Scrum)
  • Proven success working with internal stakeholders and vendors to deliver commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions
  • Demonstrated capacity to work within teams in a cross-functional environment, as well as self‑motivated to deliver on individual contributions
  • A keen eye for detail and focus on quality assurance testing
  • Articulate and confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Effective presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of the organization through clear, informed and logical discussions

We offer a competitive and equitable total rewards package, including mentorship programs and meaningful professional development to support your continued growth. This role has an expected salary of $90,000 - $110,000/year, plus the potential for bonuses.
