Technical Project Manager — AWS Migration

Employment Type: 1 year contract

About the Role

Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Technical Project Manager / Scrum Master to support growing B2B software initiatives. This is a hands‑on contract role supporting multiple software projects, primarily in maintenance mode, while ensuring strong project tracking, stakeholder communication, risk management, and delivery visibility.

The ideal candidate does not need to be highly senior, but must be detail‑oriented, technically comfortable, organized, and able to work independently after onboarding. This person will work closely with engineers, global TPM teams, internal stakeholders, and HQ teams, following structured processes and ensuring all project documentation, dependencies, risks, and statuses are accurately maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support 2–3 software projects, including project planning, execution, tracking, reporting, and delivery coordination.
  • Work closely with engineers assigned to each project, helping unblock issues, clarify priorities, manage risks, and keep delivery on track.
  • Set up and facilitate project ceremonies, including stand‑ups, planning sessions, retrospectives, and status meetings as needed.
  • Track project progress, dependencies, documentation, risks, timelines, and deliverables in tools such as Jira, Asana, and internal tracking pages.
  • Provide weekly project status reporting with clear visibility into progress, risks, blockers, dependencies, and next steps.
  • Support manual project tracking processes, including creating pages, tables, reports, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
  • Partner with global TPM teams to support program execution, risk management, escalation management, and problem‑solving.
  • Understand functional and non‑functional requirements and ensure teams have the right specifications, direction, resources, and timelines.
  • Identify process gaps, improvement opportunities, and project risks, then communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Help drive alignment across engineering, product, QA, HQ, and internal teams.
  • Follow established HQ processes, including complex and structured approval, compliance, reporting, and documentation requirements.
  • Adopt Agile/Scrum practices where applicable while also supporting Waterfall‑style project execution when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, Technical Project Manager, or similar role supporting software or system projects.
  • Experience working in a technology company or software development environment.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with engineering, QA, product, and cross‑functional technical teams.
  • Hands‑on experience with Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Scrum ceremonies and Agile practices.
  • Experience using Jira and/or Asana for project planning, tracking, dependency management, and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of QA processes and how QA fits into the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Ability to manage risks, blockers, dependencies, escalations, timelines, and project documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes accurately.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently after onboarding and operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable supporting remote or global teams across different time zones.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Previous software engineering or technical hands‑on experience.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, or MongoDB.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi‑site, or global software delivery environments.
  • Track record of successfully delivering software applications or technical projects.
