Job description

About Throughline Strategy

As a leading healthcare consultancy firm, Throughline Strategy's sole mission is to help Life Sciences organizations improve experiences and outcomes for people living with illness and those who care for them. Our global clients come to us for our strategic counsel, behavioral and system insights, and focus on implementation science, because we have a roll-up-the-sleeves determination to deliver great work that matters.

About the Role

Throughline Strategy is seeking an experienced advertising or consulting agency project manager who can seamlessly blend project management expertise with strong business acumen and exceptional interpersonal skills. In this role, you will be staffed on high-impact insights, strategy, and medical education projects with a cross-functional and highly collaborative team. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Project Leadership: Develop comprehensive project plans, manage timelines and budgets, and coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver client engagements on time and within scope. Lead project kickoffs, establish governance structures, and manage scope changes through formal change control processes.
  2. Client Management: Serve as the primary client contact, conduct regular status meetings, and provide progress updates. Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate communication between consulting teams and client organizations, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
  3. Team Coordination: Assign tasks, monitor team performance, and provide coaching to consulting staff. Coordinate resources across multiple concurrent projects, manage consultant schedules, and ensure proper workload distribution while maintaining target utilization rates.
  4. Financial Oversight: Track project profitability, manage expenses, and monitor budget variances. Prepare financial reports, analyze utilization metrics, and identify opportunities for additional work or contract expansions.
  5. Delivery & Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet internal quality standards and client expectations. Coordinate client feedback incorporation, manage formal delivery processes, and facilitate knowledge transfer to client teams for sustainable implementation.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve project processes for consistency across the organization.
  7. Workplace Culture: Help improve workplace culture and space.
  8. Other duties as required.

Our Values and Culture

At Throughline, we believe culture is as important as the work we do. We hire for values alignment first, centered around:

  1. Move It Forward: Tackle ambiguous challenges, make meaningful change, pay attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, and help clients implement projects into concrete action.
  2. Know Yourself: Assess our strengths, foster trust, innovation, and teamwork, share a passion for health outcomes, maintain curiosity, welcome feedback, and work effectively in a self-directed manner.
  3. Kindness and Candor: Communicate openly and constructively, understand others' motivations, collaborate effectively, and support team success.

What We Seek

  • At least 3 years of project management experience at an agency or consultancy serving external clients.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and business communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with shifting timelines and requirements.
  • Proven leadership through ambiguity, risk mitigation, and client communication.
  • Passion for health-related fields.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proficiency with G-Suite, MS Office, cloud collaboration tools, and AI workflow integration.
