Deep Sky is at the forefront of addressing one of the most pressing challenges of our time: climate change. At Deep Sky, we are dedicated to developing and implementing Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies that effectively remove excess carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. We are actively working on a series of commercial scale facilities across Canada - come build with us!

As a Project Manager at Deep Sky, you will lead the development and execution of our Direct Air Capture (DAC) projects, overseeing each phase from early design through to commissioning and startup. This role requires strong leadership, technical fluency, and sharp project management skills to ensure the successful delivery of complex, large-scale infrastructure initiatives. It’s a hands-on position that offers the opportunity to drive high-impact climate projects while playing a key role in advancing Deep Sky’s mission to reverse climate change.

Responsibilities

  • Own project plan, schedule, and budget from early design through commissioning
  • Develop strategic project execution plans that enable expedited delivery
  • Lead all stages of development, including site selection, power sourcing, and financial modelling
  • Drive coordination across internal teams, contractors, and external partners to keep milestones on track
  • Anticipate roadblocks, manage risks, and troubleshoot issues before they escalate
  • Lead vendor selection and coordination, from procurement through delivery and document reviews
  • Keep project documentation organized — permits, contracts, reports, and everything in between
  • Share regular updates and insights with senior leadership to support fast decision-making
  • Jump into any phase — design, construction, commissioning — and make progress happen
  • Expect regular travel to site to stay close to the work and the team on the ground

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field
  • Experience in project management or related areas (energy and infrastructure sectors are a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive in identifying and mitigating project risks across all phases
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to address challenges as they arise
  • An eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project) is beneficial
  • A passion for sustainability and climate-focused technologies

Culture Fit

  • Alignment with Deep Sky mission and values
  • A natural collaborator who thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments
  • Strong team-oriented mindset with a focus on accountability, responsibility, and collaboration
