About the role

As a Project Manager you will manage the delivery of manufacturing and engineering projects supporting customers within the CANDU Nuclear industry. Typical projects will range from $100k to $2M in size. You will manage multiple technical projects, lead multi-discipline teams and lead project execution while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, cost and schedule, and development of customer relationships.

You will report to the Senior Project Portfolio Manager and be located at our facility in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. A Hybrid work schedule of 2 to 3 days per week onsite is available.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project lifecycles from proposal through to implementation including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling and close-out.
  • Determine methods and resources needed to achieve project goals and develop a detailed project execution plan covering all phases of the project. Balance and manage competing project constraints including scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources and risks.
  • Develop a project schedule (with support from a project scheduler) and resourcing needs identification, to be used to lead performance of the work. Develop and implement recovery plans to bring delayed activities and deliverables back on track.
  • Maintain full accountability for the project financial performance. Monitor project spends and indicators and update project forecast, addressing deviations immediately as they are identified.
  • Control the project scope by understanding the contract and SOW and monitoring project activities and customer requests against this. Communicate changes immediately with both customers and internal management.
  • Be willing to travel to customer and other Westinghouse facility locations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree (Engineering or Project Management preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in Project Management or equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, or operations. Experience in the Canadian Nuclear Industry or willingness to obtain.
  • PMP, or willingness to obtain
