Express Employment Professionals - Ottawa East is seeking a seasoned Project Manager/Estimator to lead multiple complex construction projects from planning through closeout in the Ottawa area.

You will coordinate subcontractors, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure quality while communicating with leadership and clients. A strong PM background, knowledge of CCDC 2, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Procore, and MS Project are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management and/or Estimating.
• Demonstrated success coordinating and overseeing subcontractors and trade partners.
• Experience leading large-scale construction projects valued between $500K and $5M.
• Strong understanding of CCDC 2 contracts and construction project administration.
• Eligible to obtain Secret-Level Security Clearance with Canadian residency and citizenship/permanent residency as required.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication; bilingualism in French is an asset.
• Background in the electrical industry within ICI or Utilities sectors is a strong asset.
• Professional designations such as PMP, P.Eng., or CET are assets.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Procore and/or Jonas software is an asset.
• Capable of working independently and in a team; highly organized and detail‑oriented.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites and meetings.
• Adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Manage a portfolio of complex projects across multiple scopes.
• Provide on‑site leadership by motivating and guiding project teams to meet goals and milestones.
• Oversee full project life cycle, including reporting on success criteria and outcomes.
• Prepare estimates and develop detailed project plans for all project phases.
• Secure and coordinate resources to meet project objectives within planned timelines.
• Deliver status updates on milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership.
• Manage project scope and changes; lead feasibility studies, vendor evaluations, and proposal reviews.
• Serve as internal quality control checkpoint and support resolution of quality‑related issues.
• Assist with dispute resolution, negotiations, arbitration, or litigation when required.
• Support development and maintenance of schedules to manage contract obligations.
• Define Statements of Work and specifications for required goods and services.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of project execution including vendor relations, budget, risk, and changes.
• Ensure projects progress according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues to protect baseline commitments.

Required skills and qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; bilingualism in French is an asset
• Background in the electrical industry, particularly within the ICI or Utilities sectors, is considered a strong asset
• Professional designations such as PMP, P.Eng., or CET are considered assets
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Experience using Procore and/or Jonas software is an asset
• Capable of working effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel to project sites and client meetings
• Adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Duties may include, but are not limited to

• Ensure projects progress according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues to protect baseline commitments

Salary: $100,000 to $155,000 per year depending on experience

Typical Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm, overtime is required at times depending on workload and deadlines.
