Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Project Manager to join their team in Ottawa. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing daily project operations, financial management, and client deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Manage project budgets, cost tracking, invoicing, and receivables.
- Oversee daily project operations, scope, and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Review and approve team deliverables, ensuring accuracy and quality before client submission.
- Conduct project reviews and implement quality assurance measures to minimize risks.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date project documentation for compliance and reference.
- Prepare and verify job costing, including RFIs, CCNs, COs, labor, and material charges.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and resolve disputes.
- Procure materials in line with engineering standards while controlling costs.
- Adjust staffing and schedules to optimize performance and financial outcomes.
- Promote workplace safety, prioritizing a zero-incident environment for crews.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, construction management, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or welding.
- Strong knowledge of project financials, including budgeting, invoicing, and cost control.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client, vendor, and team interactions.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction/field operations.
- Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office Suite.
