OUR CLIENT :

A well-established construction firm with a focus on construction management, general contracting, and infrastructure projects across Ontario is seeking a Project Manager. Known for its commitment to quality, timelines, and employee engagement, the company has a growing portfolio of large-scale projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE :

This position offers an opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, growing organization where you will lead all aspects of multiple large construction projects and develop key leadership skills. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery from start to finish.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE :

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Post-secondary degree in construction project management or civil engineering.
  • PMP certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of stipulated price contracts, construction management contracts CCDC 5A / 5B.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Health & Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of Federal and Provincial regulations.
  • Experience with project management software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software (ViewPoint, Fieldwire).

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants during design and construction phases.
  • Identify potential challenges impacting project timelines and develop strategies to eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Review procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and update budgets, expenditures, and cost controls.
  • Assist in developing and managing project budgets with the estimating team.
  • Review bids and assist in selecting subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Participate in SPR meetings and finalize scope of work.
  • Track progress logs, site diaries, change logs, RFI logs, reports, and inspections.
  • Ensure Fieldwire is up to date with drawings and documents.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, monthly forecasts, and invoices.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and milestones.
  • Attend on-site safety training and review safety inspections.
  • Act as liaison between clients, contractors, and consultants.
  • Lead site and project OAC meetings.
  • Allocate labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Identify and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee project close-out, deficiency lists, and warranty follow-ups.
  • Schedule close-out meetings with relevant teams.
  • Review shop drawings.
