Job description

Our client is looking for a Project Manager for a 1 year maternity leave position.

Position Overview:

  1. Accountable for the planning & successful delivery of small projects with low risk, complexity and business impact.
  2. Represents Solutions & Products team and strategy on key projects.
  3. Project areas include: Business Transformation / Change management, Strategy development (organization, process, marketing, & market analysis).
  4. Responsible for coordinating activities of the project team, identifying appropriate resources needed, developing schedules to ensure project is delivered on time, on budget and within defined scope, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  5. Applies project management techniques and skills combined with experience in a large complex business environment in the implementation of a communications solution.
  6. Accountable to the project stakeholders and/or other project managers regarding project status.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for creating detailed project plans including schedule and resource requirements.
  2. Implementation of the detailed project plans and monitoring progress communicating status.
  3. Coordinates and assigns project activities, monitoring progress, validating and compiling results and provides input into recommendations regarding projects overall readiness.
  4. Removes obstacles and resolves conflicting issues mitigating risk, cross project impacts, ensuring overall business readiness.
  5. Liaise with management, project sponsors and primes providing them timely and proper appreciation of the status of the project.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of enterprise core business processes.
  2. Project management skills in leading all aspects of project delivery including, initiation, planning, execution and close out.
  3. Working knowledge of financial analysis, budget management and modeling.
  4. Experience with Project Management software tools and methodologies.
  5. Organization management (planning, budgeting & staff management).

  1. Core skills required are business-oriented project management, qualitative analysis, some quantitative analysis, and strong communication skills.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills.
  3. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  4. Strong analytical skills.
  5. Presentation skills.
  6. Demonstrated negotiation, facilitation and organizational skills.
  7. Microsoft Suite of Products.
  8. Self-directed with ability to take initiative.
  9. Ability to effectively liaise with peers and management.

Required Professional Designation/Certification:

A university degree in Business, Communications or the equivalent experience demonstrated by progressive responsibilities.

Required Experience:

Minimum 3 years experience with small projects ($1M or less) acting as the accountable prime.
