PROJECT MANAGER

POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager will be a key member of the Parklane Mechanical team, responsible for ensuring the quality execution of engineered noise control and anti-vibration solutions. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, external engineers, and clients to complete projects on schedule, leading discussions with clients and consulting partners, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and adherence to engineering standards. The incumbent will oversee the successful execution of assigned external projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of project deliverables, timelines, and scope of work.
- Create detailed critical path schedules using Microsoft Project, align them with client or company timelines, and communicate updates to control risks and ensure transparency.
- Understand project budgets in collaboration with the sales team and work closely with engineering, production, and procurement to adhere to or improve budgets.
- Coordinate site visits, which may include international travel.
- Manage shop drawing submissions with the engineering team, ensuring alignment with bid deliverables.
- Troubleshoot onsite challenges during all project phases.
- Analyze customer architectural and mechanical drawings, as well as shop drawings, to understand technical requirements.
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with purchase orders and safety requirements.
- Manage onsite activities, including logistics such as cranes, traffic closures, and permits.
- Maintain strong communication between engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and communicate scope changes and negotiate change orders.
- Provide monthly financial summaries to the Engineering Operations Manager.
- Ensure timely project invoicing based on progress and payment schedules.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout project delivery.
- Identify opportunities for scope expansion to deliver additional value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering degree is an asset.
- 3-5 years of engineering or relevant construction experience in Ontario.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and technical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AutoDesk Suite is an asset.
- Knowledge of noise and vibration measurement standards is an asset.
- Ability to analyze data, write reports, and present findings effectively.
- Experience with business development and client interaction.
- Project Management Professional Certification is an asset.
- Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment.
