Job description

About Our Client:

Our client is a group of internationally impactful companies spanning various industries, including consumer packaged goods, hospitality, technology, real estate, non-profit, and venture funding. The company operates on a global scale, with investments spanning the US, Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean. Driven by a mission to invest in building a better world, we are led by a team of skilled executives and a visionary, entrepreneurial founder.

The Role:

As Project Manager, you will lead the execution of an off-grid development project on a remote island near Vancouver. You’ll manage everything from logistics and vendor coordination to budget tracking and onsite execution. This project includes multiple all-season yurts, an A-frame lodge, custom infrastructure (solar/generator, septic, heli-pad), and trail/utility installation. You’ll report to the VP of Land Development and be supported by a field superintendent already based on site.

This role is ideally suited for someone who resides on Vancouver Island and brings experience managing construction projects within the island region. The work schedule will be split between working remotely from home and spending time on-site, with minimal to no overnight stays required.

You’ll operate in a high-urgency, design-build environment, where timelines are compressed and expectations are elevated — especially when working with ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI) and their advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the Off Grid Island project, including yurts, A-frame, heli-pad, and off-grid utilities
  • Coordinate logistics of materials, equipment, contractors, and transport (e.g. barge, helicopter)
  • Oversee execution of solar/generator installation, water systems, and septic solutions
  • Track budgets, maintain construction timelines, and ensure vendor alignment
  • Prepare and update Gantt charts and digital schedules to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Report to the VP of Land Development with updates, site photos, and field-level risks
  • Operate with autonomy while collaborating closely with on-site leadership and vendors
  • Execute design-build project scope with precision, adapting plans in real-time as site conditions and client needs evolve
  • Deliver results under accelerated timelines, with a relentless focus on quality, speed, and client-level expectations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in off-grid, remote site, or rugged terrain construction project management
  • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle builds with minimal infrastructure support
  • Familiarity with off-grid systems: solar arrays, generators, water/septic, telecom
  • Proficiency with Gantt charts, MS Teams, scheduling software, and cloud-based reporting tools
  • Ability to plan, sequence, and manage projects with weather/environment constraints
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills, with clear reporting style
  • Hands-on approach with confidence operating in isolated job sites
  • PMP certification and Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to lead capital projects from design through build — managing everything from initial plans to field execution
  • Experience working directly with or adjacent to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and high-touch client environments
  • Ability to travel to project sites on the island; overnights generally not required
  • Off-grid builder who thrives in logistical complexity – experienced with remote job sites, challenging terrain, and limited utility access
  • Highly organized operator – maintains clear plans, timelines, and contractor accountability
  • Resourceful and self-sufficient – solves problems independently, finds creative solutions, and makes things happen without hand-holding
  • Clear communicator – documents progress, flags risks early, and keeps leadership informed
  • Comfortable in the fi eld – not afraid to walk the land, inspect construction firsthand, and get your boots dirty
  • Design-build executor – experienced in managing both the planning and construction sides of projects, ensuring that vision translates into physical execution under demanding conditions
  • Thrives under pressure – excels in projects where the deadlines feel unrealistic and the margin for error is zero; sees urgency as a driver, not a barrier
  • Professional with polish – confident interfacing with UHNWI clients and their representatives while maintaining field credibility and discretion

Compensation & Benefits:

A base salary, $100K - $150K based on experience, with an additional lucrative bonus plan based on performance. Full medical benefits, Options/equity will be provided to suitable candidates after completion of the first 90 days. This role also provides the opportunity for advancement in role, function, and pay.
