At Priority Fire Protection, we specialize in fire protection and sprinkler system installation, working on a variety of projects across the Montreal area and its surroundings. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensure smooth execution, and guarantee client satisfaction.
Position Objectives:
Be responsible for the full management of projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and compliance with contractual requirements are met. Ensure effective coordination between construction teams, clients, and consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects at different stages simultaneously
- Have a thorough understanding of contracts and the scope of work
- Request and review all drawings, addenda, specifications, and quotes
- Analyze and adhere to project schedules and timelines
- Manage project budgets and invoicing
- Oversee the submission of technical data sheets to consultants via project coordinators
- Create and track Work Progress Reports (WPR) for the construction team to monitor labor progress
- Understand and order necessary materials for projects
- Monitor, approve, and ensure timely delivery of fire pumps
- Create a design schedule tailored to client needs (upcoming task)
- Organize permit payments and coordinate hydraulic tests
- Manage plan submissions to consultants
- Handle the issuance of purchase orders to subcontractors and ensure proper execution before invoice approval
- Participate in site meetings related to schedules, costs, extras, design, and client requests; ensure proper follow-up on meeting minutes
- Review change requests and directives, submit pricing for extras, and track related costs
- Negotiate material prices with suppliers at the start of the project and secure needed rates
- Monitor costs to ensure they align with the established budget
- Submit and closely follow up on Technical Q&A (QRT) throughout the project
- Oversee project close-out and ensure handover of closeout and commissioning documents to the construction team
- If needed, manage the order, timeline, documentation, and commissioning of fire pumps
- Collect, organize, and archive all design and commissioning reports in project files
- Respond to client questions and requests
- Ensure the construction team has everything needed (plans, equipment, materials, tools) to manage sites effectively
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in project management, engineering, construction, or a related field (asset)
- Significant experience in construction project management, ideally in fire protection or sprinkler systems
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with project management software and platforms (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid)
- Independence, thoroughness, and leadership qualities
