Job Overview

Reporting to the Team Lead, Projects, the purpose of this position is to support national efforts to improve the organization’s effectiveness and efficiency through the successful management and delivery of, or contribution to, special projects.

This position develops and applies standardized project management methodologies to deliver projects on-time, on-budget, and on-benefit.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage a portfolio of projects
  • Manage a portfolio of approved projects through the project lifecycle, applying standardized project management methodologies, including agile methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication channels with senior leadership and internal business clients across all functions to understand business needs, direction, and intent.
  • Incorporate effective change management controls, and develop and execute change management plans to ensure the effective adoption of new business processes and tools.
  • Responsible for delivering projects on-time, on-budget, on-benefit as agreed with stakeholders. Develop and track project KPIs and maintain control documents (schedules, risk logs, budgets, etc.).
  • For Agile projects, train teams on methodology, act as an Agile coach, conduct PI planning, create sprint schedules, run scrum meetings, calculate sprint velocity, and remove barriers.
  • Manage vendor relationships ensuring adherence to contracts, SOW, SLAs.
  • Ensure projects are well-defined with clear MVPs and measurable objectives, tracked and communicated effectively.
  • Support technical leads in resource engagement and coordination.
  • Identify and manage dependencies affecting priority and resources.
  • Support departmental development, processes, tools, and resources related to project oversight and management.
  • Promote and represent the PMO organization-wide, encouraging consistent project methodology usage.
  • Support team development through coaching and training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Foster an inclusive working environment, ensure equitable hiring practices, and encourage growth opportunities for all team members.
  • Champion CCS as a hero in the face of cancer and contribute to a culture of justice, belonging, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of progressive experience managing IT and Digital Projects, including 4+ years in an Agile environment
  • Advanced user of Waterfall, Agile, hybrid methodologies, and project scheduling software
  • 3-5 years applying recognized change management methodologies
  • Experience in executive engagement and remote team management
  • Experience with vendor and external partner management
  • Budget management experience up to $1M
  • Staff supervision experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset
  • Strong customer service, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Team-oriented work ethic and stakeholder management skills
