Ability Biotherapeutics is using its discovery engine to systematically generate logic-enabled antibodies with the potential to surpass current treatment paradigms for patients. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated and enthusiastic Project Manager who thrives working in cross-functional teams. This individual will report to the Director of Project Management and COO, and play an integral part in Ability Biotherapeutics’s scientific projects and pipeline development efforts.
Job Overview
Our corporate offices are located at 3 Place Ville Marie, Suite 400, Montreal, QC, H3B 2E3, Canada. This function will be established in laboratories on the island of Montreal’s Technoparc at 7171 Rue Frederick Banting Building 2, Saint-Laurent, Quebec H4S 1Z9.
Qualifications
- BSc in a relevant field of Biology or equivalent degree required. MBA/MSc/PhD considered an asset.
Experience
- At least 6 years’ experience for a BSc (4 years for an MSc/PhD) in managing antibody or small molecule therapeutic research programs, from discovery to IND. Proven experience in managing complex projects involving multiple internal/external partners, including CROs.

Knowledge
- Good knowledge of project management software, such as Asana, and integration with other systems such as Quickbooks, Slack, Gsuite.
- Good knowledge of fundamental financial concepts, e.g. profit/loss, balance sheets, budget variances, cash flows.
- Mastering French and English languages required.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple internal therapeutic research programs from lead discovery to preparation of CTA/IND filings.
- Work with research leads to design programs, assign timelines and milestones, budget.
- Once projects are running ensure major milestones are met, track costs, assign tasks both internally and to CROs.
- Ensure that program decisions (Go/No Go) are made at the right time by being responsive and attentive to program needs and communicative with team members.
- Help recruit and build cross-functional teams designed to prepare documents and achieve outcomes for Series A and beyond.
- Collaborate with finance team to generate financial projections and monthly research spend reports.
- Collaborate with science team to generate monthly scientific progress report.
- Work with science team to prepare successful grant applications such as IRAP and other nondilutive funding opportunities as well as reports for tax credits (SRED).
