Job description

Pinchin is seeking a motivated individual to join our Environmental Science (ENS) team as a Project Manager based in one of our offices in Richmond, Abbotsford, Victoria, or Kelowna.

The Project Manager will report to the Operations Manager and contribute to the growth of the group. Responsibilities include preparing proposals, managing budgets and schedules, designing and directing biological and environmental work, ensuring report timelines, communicating effectively with team and clients, fostering positive relationships, and supporting strategic business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage aquatic, terrestrial, vegetation, and/or wildlife projects.
  • Support staff in delivering biological and environmental consulting projects, including restoration and permitting.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Occasionally attend field sites to leverage technical expertise, despite primarily being office-based.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or regulatory agencies.
  • Master's degree or diploma in fisheries biology, biological sciences, wildlife, or water/environmental engineering.
  • Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., Registered Professional Biologist, Professional Engineer) is an asset.
  • Experience assessing watercourses, wetlands, and wildlife habitats is preferred.
  • Ability to navigate solutions related to fish habitat, wildlife habitat, and streams.
  • Experience managing field assessments with teams is an asset.
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes and laws such as the Water Sustainability Act, Fisheries Act, and Species at Risk Act.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license and ability to work in Canada.
