North American Construction Group (NACG) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee civil construction projects in the Fort McMurray region with opportunities across Canada, the USA, or Australia. You will lead teams, ensure safety, manage budgets, and drive on-time, on-budget delivery.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of leadership in construction, strong estimating and contract management skills, and willingness to relocate to Edmonton or Fort McMurray.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary engineering or construction management education.
• Experience in estimating, financial management, and contract change control.
• Familiar with construction drawings, specs, scheduling, and planning.
• Willing to relocate to Edmonton or Fort McMurray.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean abstract.
• Drug/alcohol testing and medical fitness clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance and enforce health, safety, and environmental protocols.
• Plan, direct all project phases from proposal to closeout.
• Manage project financials including estimating, forecasting, cost tracking, and billing.
• Oversee contract administration, claims, variations, and compliance.
• Review KPIs and operational performance with site teams.
• Mentor and develop superintendents and supervisory staff.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide updates to senior leadership.

North American Construction Group (NACG) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee civil construction projects primarily in the Fort McMurray region, with potential opportunities across Canada, the USA, or Australia. This role focuses on delivering diverse projects safely, on schedule, and within budget, including road construction, site grading, underground utilities, mine infrastructure, tailings facilities, HDPE piping, multiplate culverts, MSE walls, mine reclamation projects, mine overburden removal, and concrete construction. Operations span from the Canadian Arctic to South Texas and throughout Australia. The Project Manager will lead teams, including superintendents, surveyors, field engineers, supervisors, and support staff, while ensuring compliance with safety standards, contractual obligations, and financial targets.

Where You’ll Be Working

• Location Based in Acheson, Alberta (head office) or Fort McMurray project sites; potential for other Canadian, USA, or Australian locations.
• Schedule Site-based rotation. Travel to site is required on a regular basis.

What You’ll Be Doing

Safety and Compliance

• Champion safety leadership by enforcing company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure project teams adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols.

Project Execution

• Plan, organize, and direct all project phases from proposal to closeout.
• Establish production targets, monitor progress, and coordinate with field teams to achieve safety, quality, schedule, and productivity goals.
• Manage project financials, including estimating, forecasting, cost tracking, billing, and change orders.
• Oversee contract administration, claims, variations, and compliance.
• Conduct regular reviews of operational performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Leadership and Team Development

• Mentor and develop superintendents and supervisory staff through performance reviews and career guidance.
• Foster clear communication, accountability, and collaboration across operations, engineering, and client teams.

Client and Stakeholder Management

• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective relationship management.
• Represent NACG in meetings and provide performance updates to senior leadership.

What Makes You The ONE

• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership in construction or project management, with experience in civil projects.
• Proven expertise in estimating, financial management, contract negotiation, and change management.
• Familiarity with collective agreements, construction drawings, specifications, scheduling, and planning.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in Canada, USA, or Australia.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract.
• Successful completion of drug/alcohol testing and medical fitness assessment.
• Willing to relocate to Edmonton or Fort McMurray.
