Job Title: Project Manager
Location: West Edmonton and/or Calmar Office
Job Type: Full-Time or Contract (Negotiable)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our dynamic team at Komplete Modular Solutions Ltd. In this role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of modular projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget while maintaining our high standards of quality.
This position is a temporary contract covering a maternity leave, anticipated to last approximately 12 months. There is potential for this role to transition into a permanent, full-time position based on organizational needs and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution
- Oversee all phases of modular construction projects, from design coordination through commissioning.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, manufacturing facilities, and subcontractors to ensure timely execution.
Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Plan and manage logistics for transportation of modular units from factory to remote sites, often across long distances and through challenging terrain.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to permits, transport limitations, customs (if international), and weather.
Site Management in Remote Areas
- Manage site preparation, including access roads, utilities, foundations, and crane setup.
- Coordinate site crews, local labor, and subcontractors in regions with limited resources or infrastructure.
- Ensure safety and environmental compliance under remote work conditions.
Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and performance metrics.
- Navigate issues in real time, ensuring minimal disruption to schedule and budget.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standards, and client expectations.
- Manage punch lists, inspections, and handover documentation.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in construction project management, with at least 2 years in modular construction
- Demonstrated experience managing logistics-heavy projects in remote or hard-to-reach locations
- Strong knowledge of modular construction methodologies, prefabrication processes, and transport logistics
- Experience with government, defense, mining, or indigenous community projects
- Familiarity with off-grid infrastructure (solar, satellite comms, etc.)
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent project management skills: budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and resource planning
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, scheduling tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar), PDF software (Acrobat, Bluebeam, etc), construction and accounting softwares.
- Drafting and CAD software proficiency would be an asset.
- Knowledge of modular construction codes (CSA A277, Z240), provincial building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites and manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to travel extensively and work in remote, rugged environments
- Comfortable working in dynamic and fast-paced project environments.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range $95,000 - $110,000
