Job description

ServiceMaster Restore of Edmonton requires experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in managing construction/restoration/renovation projects.

The Project Managers are the primary point-person responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications and company policies.

Job Duties:

  • Manage a high-volume claims and projects at one time
  • Attend the job site to view damages, report, meet with adjusters and clients to discuss details of loss
  • On-site estimation for residential and commercial mitigation and reconstruction, inclusive of initial damage seen scopes and conducting post demolition and reconstruction site inspections to finalize scope of damages
  • Scheduling, cost determination and quality assurance of all insurance and non-insurance projects
  • Completing all claims and projects on-time, ensuring industry standards are kept aligned with company policies and procedures
  • Provide budgets, monitor and manage performance of all crews, trades and sub trades daily between multiple sites
  • Work with the projects director, project coordinator(s) and compliance coordinator to ensure compliance metrics and updates are met daily
  • Monitor, manage and update claims, scopes of work, project milestones and services provided on a daily basis within internal and external databases inclusive of Encircle, Xactimate, Xactanalysis, Acumatica, Dockusketch, and excel spreadsheets
  • Collecting reports, estimates and invoices from sub-trades and vendors
  • Reconciling project job costs, daily reports, materials, invoices, estimates and completing billing packages with final submittal made to the billings department
  • Compiling back-up documentation, submitting estimates and invoices to insurers and clients
  • Scheduling calendar follow-ups pertaining to outstanding invoices and aiding accounts receivable department in collections on a weekly basis
  • Regular scheduled meetings with management and projects coordinator(s)
  • Working closely with management and project coordinators(s) to update work in progress reports, project milestone reports, and project budget reports on a weekly basis
  • Participate in position and industry related training as required
  • Attend and participate in company meetings and marketing events as required
  • Flexible to travel, working overtime (including evenings and weekends) is required when necessary
  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to multitask and meet stringent deadlines
  • Manage a high volume of daily email communications, email maintenance and the daily organization of Outlook

  • Adhere to established methodologies related to project management and the restoration industry
  • Closely monitor daily project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors, and other specialists
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within project teams and associated work; create contingency plans to mitigate risk
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years restoration/project management experience
  • PMP Certification is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of construction process, terminology, building code, and safety code
  • Knowledge of Xactimate, XactAnalysis, Dockusketch and Hover
  • Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, presentation and listening
  • Excellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, resources and multiple projects at once
  • Flexible, adaptable to rapid change and ability to prioritize
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft office programs including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • A solid understanding of accounting and budgeting principles is required
  • A solid understanding of the accounting billing cycle
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in composing and proofing written materials
  • Must be professional, organized, efficient, diplomatic, establish and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Effectively and constructively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management with a collaborative approach
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
  • Ability to assess corporate climate, socio-economic factors, trends, and other criteria to determine chances of project success
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with business units, corporate departments, key managers, and other stakeholders
