An established consultancy that works in the water, civil engineering, utilities and marine sectors has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join their team in Kent.
Current live projects range in value from £5M-£50M; the consultancy provides expertise across asset development, adaptation and maintenance on behalf of their client.
The Project Manager will join a business with strong, long-term client relationships and enviable order books of work over the next five years.
The Project Manager has the opportunity to join a team at the start of a five-year framework delivering a programme of work within the water sector, delivering circa 80 km of water mains renewals across Kent. This is a fantastic time to join a relatively small but growing team and help shape, develop & implement the strategic direction of the team.
This is a hybrid working role.
The Role
- Working alongside the client’s Project Manager, and working as part of a team responsibilities will include:
- Taking the project details from both the client’s Assets & Leakage departments
- Working with the framework contractor under an ECI arrangement
- Arrange the programme in such a way that the client can deliver a cost-efficient solution
- Co-ordinating other consultants and third parties, including the client’s operations, & public relations, engineering designers, framework contractors, highways, environmental and land agents in order to define and deliver the program
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to stay on track.
- Manage risks and resolve issues promptly to avoid delays.
- Report regularly to senior management on project status and milestones.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment
- Mentor and provide leadership to junior members of the team.
Experience Required
- Suitable Project Manager applicants will be educated to HND/ BEng and will be able to demonstrate a stable career history working with either a consultancy or a recognised civil engineering contractor.
- Project Managers will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in preparing and monitoring programmes of works and the successful delivery of complex packages of work
- Working to tight deadlines whilst providing regular programme update reports
- Management of a range of stakeholders to achieve the highest standards of work within budget
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
