Job description

Our Transmission and Distribution group is currently looking to add a Project Manager to the team.

The Project Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and complete execution of projects across Ontario, with a 151kV Transmission Line construction project as the initial priority. The Project Manager will review progress and provide guidance for necessary changes to the execution plan.

This position will initially be required to be onsite in Dubreuilville, ON.

Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Work with project Estimator, Distribution Supervisor, and Operations Manager to develop a detailed Project Plan and Budget.
  2. Manage contracts, including all overarching agreements (e.g., MSAs) and subcontracts related to the project. Administer the contract, including scope of work, material and construction specifications, schedule constraints, invoicing, and reporting requirements.
  3. Coordinate with engineering/design teams and the client to ensure requirements are met and the design stays on schedule.
  4. Monitor project financials regularly to ensure the project remains on track.
  5. Facilitate ongoing project meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  6. Conduct monthly forecast meetings with project accountants and complete reports on projected project margins.
  7. Work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager to strengthen relationships with existing clients and pursue new business opportunities.
  8. Participate in performance reviews and mentor team members with potential for future leadership roles.
  9. Assist in preparing proposals, including writing deliverables, reviewing pricing, and scheduling.
  10. Ensure all project resources are working safely at all times.
Requirements
  1. Post-secondary education in Engineering, Commerce, Construction Management, or a related field.
  2. At least 7 years of experience in Electrical Utility Construction.
  3. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  4. Proven experience with Project Management principles and concepts.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
  1. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  2. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or working towards it.
  3. EIT / P.Eng. or other relevant professional designation.
  4. Experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 Scheduling, and JD Edwards.
  5. Strong negotiation skills.
