A leading company in IT solutions is seeking a Project Manager to oversee transformational IT projects within the healthcare sector. Job Summary:
This Project Manager role will support the government's IT Services and Support (ITSS) department in leading and managing transformational IT projects within the health environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing various projects, including healthcare transformation, infrastructure modernization, application modernization, and cybersecurity initiatives. Key responsibilities include managing project lifecycles, stakeholder engagement, change management, procurement processes, and ensuring the successful implementation of new IT solutions. The role requires extensive experience in IT project management, ideally within a government or healthcare setting, and a proven ability to lead and manage complex projects with significant organizational impact. Location: Canada, Remote
Responsibilities: - Lead and manage transformational IT projects for the health environment.
- Oversee project lifecycles from initiation to closure, including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines.
- Develop and implement project plans, including risk management strategies.
- Engage and manage stakeholders across various levels and departments.
- Lead change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption of new IT solutions.
- Support procurement processes for new technology solutions and services.
- Develop modernization roadmaps and strategies.
- Prepare and deliver project status reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure successful project completion and handoff to operational teams.
- Work with Business Analysts to develop project requirements, scope and deliverables.
- Conduct consultations, facilitate decision making and communicate with stakeholders. Required Skills & Certifications: - Minimum seven (7) years of experience in IT Enterprise Project Management managing large-scale projects with organization-wide impacts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects significantly impacting clinical program and service delivery.
- Minimum five (5) years leading and managing complex change initiatives in a health or government environment.
- Experience with at least one of the following project areas: large-scale initiatives impacting patients/providers; system-wide improvements/digital transformation projects; projects enabling patient access to personal health information; implementation of digital health solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and influence diverse groups, including executives, clinicians, technical teams, and subject matter experts. Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Project Management certification.
- Experience in procurement management within government organizations.
- Experience in change management.
- Experience working with government or publicly funded health organizations.
- Experience with specific technologies mentioned in the job description (e.g., PointClickCare, interRAI-LTCF, Sentinel, Identity and Access Management systems). Special Considerations: - The role may require working remotely and independently.
