Overview

An EPC company based in Calgary is looking to grow their Canadian footprint. Hiring an intermediate Project Engineer/Project Manager to join their Oil, Gas & Chemical global practice in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will have 8-12 years experience with midstream/downstream experience in Natural Gas Liquids, Fractionation, Petro-Chemical and Refineries coming from an Engineering Consulting background. This role is ideal for a Project Engineer looking to grow into a Project Manager level role, it will include working with potential clients, therefore having a business development mindset with strong communication is key. This person will help kick off projects in the early study phases and lead them through the project lifecycle as well as get involved from a technical standpoint. They will help with projects across the industry, from midstream and logistics facilities and refining assets to chemical production plants and renewables and emerging market opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Kick off projects in the early study phases and lead them through the project lifecycle.
• Work with potential clients and maintain strong communication, bringing a business development mindset to the role.
• Contribute technically to project deliverables and provide engineering input across various project types including midstream, logistics facilities, refining assets, chemical production plants, renewables, and emerging market opportunities.
• Support project execution for multiple concurrent projects (approximately 2–4) with TIC ranges of $50M–$200M.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience in the oil & gas industry on brownfield and greenfield projects in midstream/downstream.
• Background in Process, Mechanical, or Chemical disciplines.
• Ideally a high-level Project Engineer aiming to advance to a Project Manager role.
• Experience from an EPC background.
• Ability to work on multiple projects (2–4) with TIC between $50M and $200M.
• Nice to have: PEng registration with APEGA.
• Soft skills: flexible to work on front-end development with a business development mindset and to contribute technically on project deliverables; strong communication to engage with potential clients; entrepreneurial mindset and self-motivation.

Work Environment

We are a primary work from office company. However we do have 30 days of work from home flexibility that team members can use as approved by their supervisors. We also have a 9/80 schedule for full time employees.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
