Job description

Project Manager

Department: Operations

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: Remote - Canada

Description

What You'll Do: As a Project Manager at GeologicAI, you will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of client projects, from contract execution through completion. You will act as the central point of coordination between our clients and internal teams, ensuring work is delivered predictably, clearly, and to a high standard. This is not a hands-on technical role: our Project Managers succeed by orchestrating, driving alignment, governance, and decision-making across Operations, Processing, Geoscience, Engineering, and Data teams. You are accountable for the project, without doing everyone else's job.

What We'll Love About You: You are a clear, structured communicator who stays calm under pressure and enjoys bringing order to complexity. You are a systems thinker who understands the dependencies across scanning, processing, geoscience, products, and delivery, and you orchestrate the system rather than jumping in to fix it. You are comfortable leading without direct authority, you protect role boundaries, and you escape instead of absorbing load. Whether you are early in your PM career or an experienced delivery leader, you bring a pragmatic, accountable, low-ego mindset focused on delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own overall project delivery, outcomes, and accountability from contract execution through project close-out
  • Lead all client-facing project communications, including weekly syncs, progress reports, and escalation channels, giving clients clear visibility into project status, upcoming deliverables, risks and mitigations, and data availability
  • Build and maintain project plans, roadmaps, milestones, and delivery cadence using internal and standardized workflows
  • Establish project KPIs at kickoff (turnaround time, data-release cadence, production targets) and track performance against them
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams so each has clear priorities, context, timelines, and escalation paths
  • Oversee data delivery to ensure processing, QAQC, and exports meet agreed cadence, product specifications, and client formats, using checklist-based readiness reviews
  • Identify, categorize, prioritize, and elevate issues based on client impact, and communicate clear resolution timelines and ownership back to the client
  • Ensure alignment with contracted scope (POs / SOWs), monitor project costs, meterage, and change-order requirements, and support invoicing accuracy with Sales and Finance
  • Manage scope changes in coordination with Sales and Account Management, and feed upsell opportunities to Sales
  • Produce and maintain standardized documentation, including kickoff packs, stakeholder maps, communications plans, weekly client and internal updates, monthly KPI reviews, risk registers, change logs, and end-of-project summaries
  • Promote a safe, compliant, and predictable delivery culture, communicating safety expectations and escalating concerns to HSE or Operations
Travel Requirements
  • Travel of up to 25%, including regular site visits to client operations to build and maintain client relationships
  • Flexible / hybrid work arrangement when not on site
Skills, Education, and Experience

Must Have Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bilingual (English / French)
  • Based in Canada within easy reach of a major airport hub (for example, Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton or Montreal)
  • Experience in project management, operations coordination, engineering services, or technical programmes in complex environments (we hire at multiple experience levels, from early-career to senior)
  • Clear, structured communication skills, especially under pressure, with the ability to manage client expectations proactively
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills, with a disciplined approach to planning, tracking, and documentation
  • Systems thinking: the ability to understand dependencies and handoffs across multiple teams
  • Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority
  • Discipline around role boundaries and escalation, with a calm, pragmatic, and accountable mindset

Assets:

  • Experience delivering projects in the mining, exploration, geoscience, or energy sectors
  • Based in Calgary, with the ability to work hybrid from our Calgary office
  • Familiarity with geological data workflows (core scanning, data processing, QAQC, and data products)
  • Experience managing project scope against POs / SOWs, change orders, and project budgets
  • Experience establishing KPIs, risk registers, and reporting frameworks across multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience leading complex programmes or helping shape delivery standards across an organization
