Job description

Project Logistics Lead

Location: Mississauga, ON

Reporting to the Logistics Manager for C1 & Quinshan Projects, the Project Logistics Lead assists in managing, planning, and executing logistics, shipping, and customs activities to ensure the safe and timely transportation of project goods (equipment, reactor components, retube tooling, etc.) to the project site or other locations, in accordance with contractual Incoterms.

Your role within the team:

  1. Serve as the primary Contract Administrator for all freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and transportation services for the project.
  2. Coordinate logistics programs with stakeholders to move equipment, reactor components, retube tooling, etc., from suppliers to project sites, complying with all regulations (IAEA, IATA, ICAO).
  3. Implement and ensure compliance with the project logistics strategy in line with project plans and policies.
  4. Plan, schedule, and execute the Project Logistics program.
  5. Identify opportunities for optimization within logistics programs.
  6. Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including shipping documents, customs paperwork, invoices, and shipment tracking.
  7. Coordinate daily with Candu Purchasing, Order Administrators, Quality Assurance, the Client’s Logistics team, and freight providers.
  8. Manage logistics reporting, KPIs, and oversee subcontractors, ensuring accuracy in invoicing and timely payments.
  9. Maintain an active risk registry for all project cargo with support from the Risk Management team.
  10. Champion compliance and safety regulations in all logistics processes.

The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or Logistics, or a degree in a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with industrial project logistics, shipping, and customs procedures, including Canadian and international regulations.
  • Strong character, integrity, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Proactive in resolving logistical issues and managing risks.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
