Job summary

Gestal in Mirabel, Quebec, is seeking a Project Leader, A220 FALs Industrialization to join the Industrialization team based in Mirabel, working with final assembly lines in Mirabel and Mobile.

You will define the industrial strategy and lead improvement projects, directing large-scale industrial initiatives and collaborating with senior management to optimize assembly processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or aeronautics (or equivalent).
• Minimum 10 years in a manufacturing environment, including final assembly line experience.
• Industrial solutions specialist with strong PM skills.
• Proactive leadership with coaching/training ability and willingness to challenge the status quo.
• Advanced level French and English, oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Manage several industrial projects simultaneously, defining execution strategy (scope, resources, deadlines, costs, risks, quality).
• Plan activities, coordinate resources, manage budgets/expenses and interface with stakeholders.
• Contribute to industrial strategy and manufacturing plans for Mirabel and Mobile A220 FALs.
• Prepare and present progress status to management committees with necessary support.
• Identify, evaluate and implement innovations to digitize FAL activities and support continuous improvement.
• Maintain links with Airbus central teams, benchmark with other aeronautical programs, and act as A220 representative.
• Act as a change leader to place the FAL ecosystem in an industrial mode.
• Engage and keep involved the resources and teams needed to complete projects.

Job description

You have experience in industrial project management, you have worked in a manufacturing or assembly line environment and you want to evolve and develop new skills? This position is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Project Leader, A220 FALs Industrialization to join our A220 FALs Industrialization team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada), where you will work jointly with the final assembly lines of Mirabel (CAN) and Mobile (USA).

You will be part of the FAL Industrialization team responsible for defining the industrial strategy of the A220 FALs, deploying improvement projects identified as critical, and supporting product development activities.

Your role as Project Leader, A220 FALs Industrialization will be to manage large-scale industrial projects, contributing to the development of the industrial strategy and leading to product improvement and/or reduction of assembly cycles.

Your challenges:

• Manage several industrial projects simultaneously by defining the execution strategy (content, scope, resources, deadlines, costs, risks, quality).

• Plan activities, coordinate the work of the resources involved, manage budgets/expenses and act as an interface between the various stakeholders.

• Contribute to the development of the industrial strategy and the manufacturing plan of the two A220 FALs (Mirabel and Mobile).

• Prepare and present progress status to management committees while securing the right support at the necessary hierarchical level.

• Identify, evaluate and implement innovations to digitize A220 FAL activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain close links with Airbus central teams, perform benchmarks with other aeronautical programs and act as an A220 representative.

• Act as a change leader and be a force of proposition to place the FAL ecosystem in an industrial mode.

• Engage and keep involved the resources and working teams necessary for the completion of projects.

Your profile:

• Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or technique in the field of aeronautics.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including relevant experience in a final assembly line (FAL) environment.

• Specialist in industrial solutions demonstrating strong project management skills.

• Demonstrate a high level of leadership with proven coaching/training skills, and assertiveness to influence and challenge the status quo.

• Ability to work with senior management as well as work teams, in a diplomatic and resilient manner.

• Proactivity, high autonomy, organizational sense and ability to define priorities to evolve in a high-pressure environment regularly subject to changes.

• Language skills: Advanced level (oral and written) in French and English to be an excellent communicator at all levels.
