Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in design or engineering required.

Project Installation Engineering Leader OnBoard

Location: Toronto, ON, CA

As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project. The GO Expansion scope: new electric locomotives, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems.

Objective

  • Lead and execute Installation Engineering (IE) activities in support of one or several Projects, in close cooperation with the Installation team within Mainline and Urban (M&U) Signaling Installation scope.
  • Ensure delivery and quality of the documentation in compliance with M&U Signaling strategies.
  • Ensure the application of EHS policies, local regulations, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and lead the full Project Installation Engineering Team, also from different Countries.
  • Provide the list of deliverables with related schedule and workload, also in accordance with the reference library (analysis of reusable documents, gaps, etc.).
  • Propose the validation cycle of the documentation (Internal and external: Customer, Subcontractor, etc.).
  • Report on the progress of the delivery of the document to be provided as per schedule.
  • Support the Project Installation Manager, Field Operations Manager for QCD review of the IE activities, including Risk identification and mitigation proposal.
  • Interfaces with other Project stakeholders – internal or external - for getting needed data, for delivering the IE.
  • Identifies and reports on issues on document and drawing delivered and provide REX on main route cause of issues and on reference library evolution.
  • Performs Site Surveys during preparation and execution phase (if necessary).
  • Liaises with BIM Coordinators to coordinate common Installation Engineering studies and deliverables.
  • Ensure application of Digital & Integrated Systems Installation and Field Operations Process for Installation Engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Engineer degree level or equivalent education and experience.
  • 7-10 years experience in design or engineering.
  • P. Eng certification or in progress.
  • Certification on Autocad and/or other Design tool.
  • Strong knowledge of Railway products and services knowledge on different market segments (Urban, Mainline, F&M).
  • Basic experience on railway site management.
  • Experience of management by Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives.
  • EHS background.
  • Knowledge of BIM procedures and tools.
