Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International is seeking a Project Geologist to support mineral exploration programs at an active mining project in Canada. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and executing exploration activities, with emphasis on field supervision and data interpretation.

The successful candidate will manage field operations, conduct drill core logging, and contribute to the evaluation and advancement of mineral resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional registration (or eligible) with a recognized geological association.
• Approximately 3-5 years of experience in mineral exploration.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee exploration programs, including diamond drilling campaigns.
• Supervise day-to-day field activities, ensuring safety and high technical standards.
• Conduct detailed geological logging of drill core.
• Manage geological, geochemical, and geotechnical sampling programs.
• Compile, validate, and interpret geological datasets to support exploration decisions.
• Produce geological maps and contribute to field mapping, prospecting, and target generation.
• Ensure field operations comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Coordinate activities with drilling contractors, laboratories, and external consultants.
• Assist in developing drill targets and interpreting exploration results.
• Support project planning, logistics, scheduling, and budget tracking as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee exploration programs, including diamond drilling campaigns.
• Supervise day-to-day field activities, ensuring programs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.
• Conduct detailed geological logging of drill core.
• Manage geological, geochemical, and geotechnical sampling programs.

• Produce geological maps and contribute to field mapping, prospecting, and target generation activities.
• Ensure all field operations comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
