Position: Project Finance Analyst - Downtown - up to 3 days remote - salary based on experience + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Identify and implement scope changes on active projects to maximize financial outcomes.
- Track financial performance of client projects and detect risks to profitability and margin deviations.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis using project documentation, contracts, pricing tables, change orders, invoices, timesheets, and internal reports.
- Summarize findings and contribute to financial reporting for project managers and senior leadership.
- Participate in project reconciliations, cost-to-complete updates, and annual contract reviews.
- Support project managers with monitoring labor and material costs to ensure delivery aligns with scope, deadlines, and budget.
- Join monthly performance reviews and support forecasting and revenue recognition activities.
- Identify early signs of scope changes and assist in preparing change orders, updating invoicing, and resetting margins as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers to identify and address sources of margin erosion through analysis and corrective actions.
- Present financial insights and findings to leadership, project teams, and internal stakeholders across departments.
- Create financial models to support data-driven decision-making on a project level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration (MBA or CPA is a plus).
- 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting.
- Proficient in ERP and project management tools.
- Experience with analytics platforms like Power BI, Tableau.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and employee time-tracking systems.
- Advanced Excel skills, including modeling, pivot tables, and macros.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and variance analysis.
- Proven ability to work across functions in fast-paced, matrix environments.
- Skilled at consolidating financial data from various sources and systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English and French.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused.
