Position: Project Finance Analyst - Downtown - up to 3 days remote - salary based on experience + benefits

Responsibilities:

1. Identify and implement scope changes on active projects to maximize financial outcomes.
2. Track financial performance of client projects and detect risks to profitability and margin deviations.
3. Conduct detailed variance analysis using project documentation, contracts, pricing tables, change orders, invoices, timesheets, and internal reports.
4. Summarize findings and contribute to financial reporting for project managers and senior leadership.
5. Participate in project reconciliations, cost-to-complete updates, and annual contract reviews.
6. Support project managers with monitoring labor and material costs to ensure delivery aligns with scope, deadlines, and budget.
7. Join monthly performance reviews and support forecasting and revenue recognition activities.
8. Identify early signs of scope changes and assist in preparing change orders, updating invoicing, and resetting margins as needed.
9. Collaborate with project managers to identify and address sources of margin erosion through analysis and corrective actions.
10. Present financial insights and findings to leadership, project teams, and internal stakeholders across departments.
11. Create financial models to support data-driven decision-making on a project level.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration (MBA or CPA is a plus).
• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting.
• Proficient in ERP and project management tools.
• Experience with analytics platforms like Power BI, Tableau.
• Familiarity with CRM tools and employee time-tracking systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including modeling, pivot tables, and macros.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and variance analysis.
• Proven ability to work across functions in fast-paced, matrix environments.
• Skilled at consolidating financial data from various sources and systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English and French.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused.
