This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:

  • Provide leadership, governance, and control to ensure efficient and sustainable implementation of all capital projects within the Potash portfolio.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of Nutrien’s capital processes across Potash sites through rigorous reviews of funding requests, Stage-Gate deliverables, and alignment with Nutrien’s project management framework.
  • Resolve escalated issues and remove obstacles raised by Site Portfolio Managers, Project Controllers, and Project Managers.
  • Consolidate project materials and prepare presentations for Senior Leadership, Nutrien President(s), and the Board of Directors.
  • Support the Potash capital PMO in defining strategic objectives, developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and tracking performance to ensure effective use of capital.
  • Provide input during project initiation to ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement and technical reviews.
  • Deliver clear insights and reporting to senior stakeholders, positioning the portfolio to achieve business value and long-term strategic goals.
  • Mentor, coach, and train Project Managers, including assessment of competencies, facilitation of front-end project development, and delivery of project management training.
  • Guide Site Portfolio Managers and Project Controllers across six key areas: Leadership, Stage-Gated Project Management, Training & Skills Development, Project Analytics, Risk Management, and Cost Optimization.
  • Engage, motivate, and inspire teams across the Potash Operating Segment to embrace change and continuously improve capital strategies, governance practices, and project management procedures.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
    • Diploma in Engineering Technology, or equivalent, from a recognized institution.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) designation is considered an asset.
  • Highly motivated leader with demonstrated ability to coach and develop people to maintain the highest levels of expertise and performance.
  • Ability to succeed in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision, while fostering collaboration across management teams, sites, and departments.
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience delivering project management training.
