Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Project Engineering Manager for Retube Tooling in Mississauga, Canada. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering design and construction activities within a site project environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contract requirements.

You will manage resources, oversee training and qualifications, and be accountable for performance, deliverables, and technical documentation.

• Manages the size and composition of the team resources, including reporting structures.
• Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed/updated on time.
• Provides clear expectations and performance measures, meaningful feedback, recognizes and rewards achievements, and takes disciplinary steps when warranted.
• Accountable for performance review processes and provides feedback on the performance of staff.
• Responsible for human resource issues and effectively managing and resolving employee issues.
• Ensures final deliverables meet customer requirements and align with nuclear codes and standards.
• Approves technical documents prepared by staff reporting to them.
• Plans and executes work consistent with quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Removes barriers to meet project requirements and optimizes solutions.
• Fosters a team environment and interfaces with clients to deliver engineering products according to specifications.

Overview

Reporting functionally to the Director of Retube Tooling, the Project Engineering Manager -Retube Tooling would support one of the major Refurbishment projects and work daily under the established project organization. The Project Engineering Manager will support the execution of design and technical activities in a site project delivery environment in accordance with industry standards and established governance and will be responsible for assigned aspects of site related tooling, and construction delivery refurbishment tools. This leader will be responsible for a multidiscipline team of Retube Tooling individuals executing commercial and internal work packages and projects.

Your role

• Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed/updated on time.
• Provides clear expectations and performance measures, meaningful feedback, recognizes and rewards achievements, and takes disciplinary steps when warranted.
• Accountable for performance review processes and provides feedback on the performance of staff reporting to this role.
• Responsible for human resource issues and effectively managing and resolving employee issues.
• Ensures that the final deliverables from their team meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
• Approves technical documents prepared by staff reporting to them.
• Plans and executes work consistent with quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Removes barriers that would impact deliverables to meet project requirements and priorities, working with the assigned staff to find solutions and optimizations.
• Fosters a team environment and team building within Engineering and with internal and external customers.
• Interfaces with clients and successfully delivers engineering products in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
• Establishes the technical approach to achieve project requirements and ensures the design satisfies these requirements.
