Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering, preferably in energy or industrial process sectors.
  • Strong understanding of process systems, pressure vessels, piping, and instrumentation.
  • Eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through the full lifecycle: feasibility, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and optimize plant layouts and process designs for hydrogen facilities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the execution of multi-disciplinary energy infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of clean hydrogen systems, collaborating across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment and is passionate about advancing clean energy technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support projects through the full lifecycle: feasibility, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Develop and optimize plant layouts, process designs, and system configurations for hydrogen production and storage facilities.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation including design basis, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, heat and mass balances, and equipment specifications.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external engineering consultants, EPC contractors, and technology vendors.
  • Interface with industrial clients to understand requirements and deliver tailored energy solutions.
  • Support construction and site operations teams during project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards throughout project phases.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in project engineering, preferably in energy, hydrogen, natural gas, or industrial process sectors.
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools such as SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of process systems, pressure vessels, piping, and instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate across disciplines and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hydrogen, renewable fuel, carbon dioxide, or natural gas projects.
  • Experience in fuel lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodologies
  • Familiarity with Canadian codes and standards (e.g., CSA, ASME, API).
  • Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
