Job description

General Dynamics Mission Systems Canada is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our A&N Sonar team. In this role, you'll direct project-assigned engineers and matrixed support teams, ensuring seamless execution while supporting Program Managers with requirements monitoring, cost, and schedule performance.

You will collaborate with leadership to align project needs and drive technical excellence. Your responsibilities include analyzing risks, engaging with cross-functional teams such as Supply Chain, Engineering, and Contracts. From hands-on design analysis and testing to customer interfacing and technical documentation, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact solutions.

  • Directing project-assigned engineers and matrixed support personnel during project execution
  • Coordinating with leadership to meet project needs
  • Providing technical inputs to and reviewing outputs from subcontractors
  • Delivering project objectives on schedule and within budget
  • Reviewing project performance monthly, analyzing risks (technical, cost, schedule), and initiating corrective actions
  • Interfacing with support departments such as Supply Chain, Component Engineering, and Contracts
  • Communicating with customers
  • Performing design analysis and testing activities to meet project objectives
  • Documenting analyses, designs, and tests (architecture diagrams, UML diagrams, technical notes, design documents, test plans, and reports) using standard templates
  • Writing formal test cases and executing them to collect results
  • Preparing written test reports for submission to the customer
  • Investigating system problem reports and field incident reports; performing root cause and trend analyses
  • Providing technical support during higher-level integration and qualification testing
  • Making presentations at design reviews or peer reviews

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
  • 8 years of experience

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and tools
  • Supporting System Integration and Verification
