  • Evaluate and implement gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery energy storage and heat recovery options, considering heat rate, turndown, start and ramp capability, N+1 redundancy, black start, maintenance strategy, emissions and life-cycle cost.
  • Coordinate integration of generation with medium- and high-voltage distribution, transformers, switchgear, protection and controls, grounding, SCADA, UPS systems and standby generation.
  • Assess natural gas supply requirements, including volume, pressure, composition, conditioning, compression, pipeline connectivity and supply reliability.
  • Develop operating philosophies for islanded and grid-connected BTM configurations, including synchronization, import/export controls, energy management systems, load shedding, protection coordination, black-start capability and emergency response.

  • Support commercial evaluation, due diligence and final investment decisions through capital and operating cost estimates, scenario analysis and risk assessment.
  • Manage engineering consultants, original equipment manufacturers and EPC contractors; prepare technical specifications, evaluate bids and support contract, warranty and long-term service agreement negotiations.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, performance testing and operational readiness, while coordinating with internal operations, marketing, land, regulatory, environment, Indigenous relations and commercial teams.
Qualifications
