Project Engineer (File Based, MAM & Playout Systems)

Responsibilities:

1. Stand-up media workflows and playout solutions for Media & Entertainment (M&E) customers globally
2. Help customers streamline operations by adopting the industry’s leading workflow & playout solution
3. Design and deploy public cloud compute infrastructure
4. Design and deploy on-premises virtualization compute infrastructure clusters
5. Configure file-based workflows and deploy custom scripts to build media content supply chains
6. Configure playout systems to create linear broadcast and OTT streams
7. Integrate third party hardware, software and APIs to create end-to-end media workflows
8. Work with technical team lead and other team members in an Agile environment
9. Own and deliver crucial elements of the project’s technical deployment
10. Drive customer satisfaction by delivering systems to an agreed upon specification
11. Routine reporting on project progress and issues to internal stakeholders
12. Escalate issues to Research and Development team for resolution

Requirements:

1. Education in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Networking or similar technical discipline
2. Excellent debug and problem resolution skills
3. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and translate into practical use
4. Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python)
5. Familiarity with Linux operating system

The following would be an asset in your day-to-day work in this role:

1. Computer networking knowledge
2. Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Amazon Aurora, MariaDB)
3. Practical knowledge of public cloud compute platforms (e.g. AWS, Google, Azure)
4. Experience with Agile work planning methods
5. Experience with broadcast automation, device control and media management
6. Knowledge of current digital video compression standards and file types
