Job description

CGC Inc. is actively seeking a Co-op Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Calgary Plant. This exciting opportunity spans from September 2, 2025, through December 19, 2025, totaling four months, with a strong possibility of an extension.

This is a salaried position that requires 100% onsite presence, offering an excellent challenge for a motivated individual to showcase their leadership skills and engineering expertise within a prominent manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Responsibilities

  1. Monitor daily process activities and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency and productivity, including waste reduction, speed, delay, and raw material usage.
  2. Manage the coordination, implementation, and standardization of manufacturing and warehouse process improvements.
  3. Support new technology and processes, and implement trial plans.
  4. Lead cross-functional teams to address process variability.
  5. Incorporate safety into all departmental activities and ensure safe working conditions in the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Candidates must be enrolled in a registered engineering degree program.
  • Strong analytical skills, understanding of data collection, statistics, and process relationships are required.
  • Ability to utilize advanced problem-solving techniques such as SPC, control charts, Pareto charts, process cycle time analysis, fishbone diagrams, flowcharting, and process balancing.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to facilitate cross-functional corrective actions.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to handle multiple activities.
