Connecting Specialists to Pioneering Projects

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to manage and execute construction projects with a focus on civil earthworks in the oil sands sector. This role involves performing engineering design evaluations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering projects within budget and schedule constraints. Working under supervision, you will support project management and technical processes, collaborating with stakeholders to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in Invitation to Tender (ITT) development, bid evaluation, and contractor selection.
  2. Identify and source long-lead equipment, supporting Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contractors.
  3. Coordinate EMCAPS Gate 3 deliverables and Functional Interaction Plans.
  4. Manage project issue resolution and change requests, endorsing authorizations.
  5. Ensure assigned work scope aligns with project objectives and specifications.
  6. Act as the interface between Project Team and contractors, ensuring smooth stage transitions.
  7. Lead the Project Management Team in applying Project Management Systems.
  8. Review production, malfunction, and maintenance reports to address issues.
  9. Provide technical support and ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  10. Support the Project Manager as a backup when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience in engineering, construction, and project management, with a focus on civil earthworks.
  • Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications, and work processes.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite; familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Multi-discipline skill set with experience in diverse project assignments.
  • Oil sands and civil experience is highly preferred.
