Job summary

Whistler Technologies is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage customer projects and ensure timely delivery. Responsibilities include overseeing project requirements, managing relationships with customers and suppliers, and conducting cost analysis.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in project engineering and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.

This full-time role is based in Function Junction, Whistler, and presents significant growth opportunities.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description: Project Engineer

Salary: Based on Experience

Effective Start Date: TBC

Vacation: 3 weeks

Schedule: Full-time (40hrs), Monday – Friday, 8:20am-4:20pm (Winter Ski Schedule)

Full-time Location of Employment: Function Junction, Whistler

Duties and responsibilities
  • Overseeing the sales to engineering handoff, and ensuring projects are delivered as scheduled
  • Managing the customer and supplier relationships, ensuring a constant flow of effective communication
  • Procurement of products and services as required
  • Managing and optimizing the procurement schedule with respect to our cashflow projections
  • Conduct continual cost analysis with a view to reducing our overheads.
  • Work with finance and sales to ensure deposits and payments are completed as scheduled
  • Ensuring manufacturing quality controls are implemented and followed
  • Review and develop project objectives with respect to regulatory requirements, project budgets, and lead delivery times
  • Development, implementation and review of project processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Working with the engineering department to coordinate and complete required commissioning
  • Assist the engineering department as required
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in project engineering role
  • Previous procurement and/or supply chain management experience
  • Understanding of engineering project lifecycle and project management processes
  • Strong time management and goal setting skills
  • Previous project budget management and cost analysis experience
  • Proven ability to build and develop effective customer and supplier relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, reporting, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional, self-motivated, and detail orientated
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Travel to suppliers and customer sites, for commissioning, as required
  • Experience working in a small sized engineering company preferred
  • Previous pharmaceutical or steel manufacturing experience considered an asset
