Job summary

Kent is seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to support multidisciplinary engineering projects in Calgary, Alberta. You will coordinate engineering deliverables, support project planning, and collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, procurement, and construction teams to deliver projects on time and within scope.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in project engineering, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and preferably a P.Eng. or EIT.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • P.Eng. or EIT preferred.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience.
  • Industrial EPC/EPCM experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables and project planning activities.
  • Monitor progress and participate in project meetings.
  • Support schedules, reporting and procurement activities.

About the Job

Kent is seeking an Intermediate Project Engineer to support multidisciplinary engineering projects through planning, coordination, engineering execution, procurement support, construction support, and project delivery activities. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Project Engineering Managers, discipline engineers, Procurement, Construction, and Project Controls while supporting safe, efficient, and successful project execution.

Responsibilities

Engineering Coordination

  • Coordinate engineering deliverables.
  • Support project planning activities.
  • Monitor engineering progress.
  • Participate in project meetings.
  • Maintain engineering action registers.

Project Support

  • Assist with schedules and reporting.
  • Coordinate procurement support.
  • Support construction and commissioning.
  • Assist with change management.
  • Prepare technical reports.

Client Support

  • Participate in client meetings.
  • Coordinate information requests.
  • Support document reviews.

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in lessons learned.
  • Support process improvements.
  • Assist with project closeout documentation.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.


Your Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience

Knowledge/Qualifications/Training/Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • P.Eng. or EIT preferred.
  • 5+ years project engineering experience.
  • Industrial EPC/EPCM experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

Communication

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
