Job summary

Envista Forensics is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to support our Forensics Group in delivering excellent project results and client experience. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple projects while working within a global team.

Required is a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and active PEng (or ability to obtain within one year).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • Active PEng or able to obtain within one year is preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience evaluating electrical failures in commercial or industrial settings is preferred.
  • 25–30%+ travel and ability to work in inclement weather or various environments.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates the origin and cause of failures in electrical systems at industrial, commercial, and residential sites.
  • Analyses the failure of electrical systems and evaluates construction or maintenance procedures.
  • Performs field investigations and leads multi-party examinations with documentation of damaged property.
  • Research failure modes and prepares recommendations for repair/remediation.
  • Prepares reports outlining the origin and cause of damages for clients.
  • Manages multi-disciplinary teams on large, complex assignments.
  • Establishes trusted relationships with clients and interacts with them across engagements.

Job Description

The work you’ll do as the Project Electrical Engineer in ourForensics Group will support delivering excellent project results and stellar client experience. This role will require extensive people, communication, and organizational skills, and the ability to continuously prioritize multiple projects.

Your areas of responsibility:
  • Investigates the origin and cause of failures, damages or defects in the electrical fields within industrial, commercial, and residential sites.
  • Analyzes the failure of electrical systems, determines the cause of failures, evaluates the quality of construction or reviews design or maintenance procedures.
  • Performs field investigations, leads multi-party examinations and documentation of damaged property.
  • Research failure modes as needed, prepare recommendations for repair and/or remediation as appropriate.
  • Prepares reports and letters outlining the origin and cause of the damages to our clients.
  • Manages/works on multi-disciplinary teams on large and complex assignments.
  • Establishes trusted working relationship with clients and interacts socially at mixed engagements with clients.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Active PE is required (in the state of employment is preferred) 5 years’ experience evaluating electrical failures in a commercialorindustrial setting preferred Power systems experience (generators,transformers, and switchgear, etc.) is a plus
  • Electro-mechanical experience is desirable 25 - 30%+ travel Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions
