As a Project Manager with Pomerleau Construction's Civil & Infrastructures team, you will play a key role at the heart of the Urban Earthworks business unit. Leading large-scale construction and infrastructure projects - which can exceed $200 million - you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engineers, contractors and customers to ensure flawless execution of all projects. You'll benefit from professional coaching and specialized services provided by our support departments, such as environment, quality and insurance, allowing you to focus on what's important: project management.

What You Will Do
  1. Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, partners, consultants and customers to achieve project goals and vision.
  2. Support project management teams in the development and management of the construction schedule, ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met or exceeded.
  3. Use your problem-solving skills and recommend innovative methods to increase efficiency and ensure project excellence and productivity.
  4. Use your proactive approach to ensure compliance with our world-class quality program.
  5. Leverage your experience in selecting professional partners and coordinating their activities.
  6. Apply your financial management experience to plan, manage and meet project budgets, costs and associated purchases.
  7. Be both a mentor and role model to your project team, providing coaching and guidance to help them progress in their careers.
  8. Act as a risk management professional, ensuring that any risk associated with the project is minimized.
  9. Compile and complete company-wide project reports for management teams and client groups.
  10. Demonstrate health, safety and environmental leadership on the project by effectively enforcing and promoting requirements, standards, laws and regulations to all project employees and partners.
  11. Act as preconstruction sponsor with estimating teams.
This role could be for you if you have
  1. More than 10 to 15 years' experience on projects of varying construction complexity, with a focus on civil engineering and complex urban infrastructure.
  2. A university degree in engineering or related field;
  3. A keen sense of business opportunities with a strong professional network;
  4. Professional experience in the construction sector with a solid knowledge of project methodologies, financial management, as well as construction standards;
  5. Proven experience in team leadership and an ability for coaching and mentoring;
  6. A strong ability to effectively influence others and successfully solve a variety of customer, project and technical issues;
  7. Prior experience with planning software.
Additional Assets
  1. Experience working on a variety of large-scale public projects;
  2. Written and oral fluency in both official languages (English and French).

  • Widening of Highway A-20 from Sainte-Julie to Boucherville and construction of three park-and-ride lots for Renouveau Lafontaine;
  • Construction of the Rockfield pumping station and interception of the St-Pierre collector at Bassin Rockfield;
