Location : Hybrid (Canada - Travel required to customer sites and SDE offices) Employment Type: Full Time

Role Overview

We are seeking a talented Project Director to join our team. In this role, you will lead multiple small capital projects as well as major projects up to $800MM TIC, from proposal development through commissioning. You will engage with clients to define bespoke execution strategies, manage cross-functional teams, and deliver high-impact projects with certainty.

You will thrive in an environment focused on decarbonization, hydrogen innovation, and responsible development . Bilingual capabilities in French and English are required to support our growing portfolio across North America.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership
Lead and mentor project teams across geographies. Organize and lead the project team; includes mentorship, aligning project objectives and goals, defining roles in the project, and assigning project team members to those roles. Set performance expectations and foster professional growth through guidance and mentorship.
2. Technical Expertise
Develop execution plans, scopes of work, project budgets, staffing plans and schedule baselines during bid phases. Oversee all phases of project execution from concept through commissioning including the ability to administer contracts and subcontracts. Control and deliver projects to their baseline (scope, budget, schedule,). Develop level 3 schedules to define the logic and sequence of activities necessary for efficient execution and on-time completion. Apply rigorous change control and risk management practices throughout the execution phase to achieve client satisfaction. Acquire and coordinate products and services from external sources including subcontractors, vendors, and fabricators.
3. Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring transparency, professionalism, and responsiveness. Articulate execution strategies, progress, and key decisions through presentations and regular updates. Demonstrate the ability to manage project changes with diplomacy and clarity. Manage project communications to generate and disseminate information to the project team and internal stakeholders.
5. Compliance and Standards
Ensure compliance with engineering codes, health and safety regulations, and company quality standards. Organize phase reviews and integrate lessons learned into future projects.
6. Strategic Contributions
Active, client-focused approach to anticipate client challenges, needs, and priorities and become an extension of their organization. Support business development through proposal preparation and effort estimation and demonstrate Sacré-Davey's value proposition of client focus, speed, and flexibility. Continuously improve project management through the practice of ongoing refinement of tools, standards templates, methodologies, and practices.
7. Mentorship
Provide a rich learning environment for staff through hands-on coaching and structured development. Promote team engagement, cross-functional collaboration, and knowledge transfer.
The Ideal Candidate will:
Demonstrate excellence in client focus, client management, project delivery, and team leadership. Exhibit adaptability, strategic thinking, and drive to deliver results with certainty. Be fluent in French and English, enabling collaboration with clients and stakeholders in multilingual environments. Demonstrate a track record in the hydrogen industry, preferably with green and blue hydrogen project experience. Understand the nuances of technology scale-up and clean energy project implementation.

Skills & Qualifications
10+ years of project delivery experience, preferably in energy, renewable fuels, hydrogen, or industrial gas sectors. Experience delivering both large capital projects and small brownfield upgrade projects. Expertise in proposal writing, cost estimation, scheduling (MS Projects), and execution planning. Fluency in French and English (required). Licensed with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. Commercial acumen in budgeting, invoicing, forecasting, and change management. Willingness and ability to travel as required. Familiarity with hydrogen technology applications, safety protocols, and permitting is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
