Role Overview

We are seeking a Systems Architect/PDA to join our Toronto team. The PDA is responsible for Solution Compliance during Bid, Project, or Product Development phases, defining solutions within budget and schedule constraints, and ensuring full compliance with policies and regulations.

Primary Activities
  1. Lead technical aspects of bids or projects
  2. Interface with customers/PLM on architecture, design, performance
  3. Analyze customer needs and define initial baseline
  4. Ensure compliance with policies, strategies, and regulations
  5. Balance trade-offs between requirements, budget, risks, and schedule
  6. Review engineering environment and risks
  7. Prepare and sign Design Validation documents
  8. Approve key engineering reviews and deliverables
  9. Approve specifications and source selections
  10. Review and approve integration, verification, and validation results
  11. Oversee customer acceptance of solutions
  12. Organize technical meetings and peer reviews
  13. Coordinate with production, deployment, and service teams
  14. Report on technical status and risks
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years in software-based system development
  • Minimum 3 years leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with multiple SelTrac projects in design, integration, acceptance
  • Strong customer communication and technical management skills
  • Domain knowledge in Automated Train Control systems and modern software practices
  • Good marketing and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate product value to diverse audiences
  • System Engineering experience covering SW or HW lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer’s Licence (P.Eng.)
