Primary Purpose: The Project Coordinator supports strategic initiatives led by the Office of the Vice-Provost Indigenous Engagement (OVPIE), contributing to the advancement of the university’s Indigenous Strategy, ohpahotân I oohpaahotaan. This role focuses on event coordination, stakeholder engagement, and logistical support for Elders, Knowledge Holders. Nature of Work: This role operates in a dynamic, fast paced, and highly collaborative environment, managing multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines. The Project Coordinator works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and execution of initiatives that reflect the values and priorities of Indigenous engagement. The position requires a high level of cultural awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans. Flexibility, discretion, and professionalism are essential, particularly when supporting Elders and Knowledge Keepers and coordinating sensitive or high-profile events. Reporting to the Strategic Officer, Indigenous Engagement, this position is responsible for supporting end-to-end event coordination including consideration of relationships with stakeholders, communications and post-event evaluation. The incumbent will support high quality, high impact and engagement experiences and events with measurable outcomes to build and strengthen relationships and the work of OVPIE. Stakeholders will include Elders, Knowledge Keepers, dignitaries, community partners, students, staff, and faculty and all ranging in size from small intimate gatherings to large-scale signature events.
