Project Coordinator, New Build Strategies

Our Nuclear Canada business is experiencing significant growth driven in part by interests in nuclear new build projects internationally and domestically. As part of the global efforts to reach net zero emissions, Nuclear Canada is striving to be a leader in new nuclear builds, through deployment of CANDU reactors, and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).

The Project Coordinator will report to the Project Manager, New Build Strategies & Capture, and will be responsible for the coordination of various initiatives and projects that are critical to the successful deployment of new nuclear builds. This role will require continuous communication with all project team members, including engineering, procurement, project management, and construction, and will involve interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders including our client and partner organizations.The Project Coordinator is expected to have experience in project support and coordination, including an understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, contract management, and project controls principles. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential to maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, both client and partner organizations. The Individual will assist in the delivery of the full project lifecycle with an initial focus on early works and Definition Phase activities, contributing to proposal activities to set the project on a path to success.

This role will be based in Pickering, ON.

Your role within the team:

• Responsible for assigned scope of the project and accountable for performing duties that facilitate work progressing with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
• Liaise with key stakeholders as required generally including engineering, procurement, construction, quality, client & subcontractors.
• Maintain a positive relationship with client project counterparts.
• Responsible for helping implement the project schedule and track budget for assigned engineering, procurement, construction segments of the project.
• Coordinates with Engineering and key Stakeholders to ensure that the technical documents are prepared in support of the project.
• Support procurement and contract management processes.
• Coordinates the preparation and delivery of project deliverables.
• Maintains project documentation and records.
• Support the development of work breakdown structures (WBS).
• Contribute to project forecasting and resource levelling
• Assist in the preparation of project deliverables.
• Assist in the planning and preparation of proposals.
• Provides status and progress reports in support of the Project Manager.
• Ensure work is performed within quality program requirements.
• Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.

• Minimum 2 years of nuclear industry or related experience.

• Working Experience with Microsoft Office software such as Excel, Outlook and Teams, Power BI, MS Project.
• University degree or equivalent, BSc in Engineering considered an asset.
• Knowledge of nuclear project work, project management, project controls, planning, estimating and employee relations.
• An appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry considered an asset.
• Must have the ability to handle all matters in a confidential and professional manner.
